Default Creating a Print buttom - 08-06-2004 , 09:26 AM

Hi,

Someone asked me to create a print buttom at the top frame, so it can
print the rest of the page, whatever is showing on the main frame. I?m kinda
lost cause I never did something like this. If someone can help, i?ll be much
grateful.

You can only do this with internet explorer. You need to use javascript:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&c2coff=1&q=javascript+printing+one+frame+from+an other&spell=1

Note that this is yet another reason why frames aren't an ideal tool for
building web sites. If possible, the more universal/accessible solution
would be to simply get rid of the frames.

Most OS's have the ability to print, but they will normally only print
the frame currently with focus. It could be that you are tumbling down a
slippery slope. Frames are a challenge to an experienced developer, and
whether the browser can print the document or not, and/or how much of
the document it will print if it can, is a decision made by the UA
vendor(the browser).

I think he's already tumbled... or should I say taken the fall?
