Default Crashing Website - 11-16-2004 , 09:45 AM

:disgust; Hi: I am having problems with my pages loading and then the browser
will lock, or just sit computing for a long time. It seems to happen when any
new nav bar is loading, it seems like it locks when the button behaviors are
loading. I'm not sure if this is a problem with dreamweaver or perhaps
fireworks nav bars. Please check out my site at www.audioscan-1.com, please
keep in mind this is just a testing site and I am a beginner. Any help or
suggestions would be very helpful. Dave

No there is something that can't load. I presume its a js error but I'm not
sure.

Thanks everyone: if it is a js error is there a solution that I can try? Or should I just delete the whole damn site and start over, or maybe just have a few beers even though its not noon yet?

What evidence do we have that it's a js error?

Well that was what the two posts from pablo and karen suggested... but I think
they are hunches. I am new at this so I have no idea what the problem is.....
I have tried retooling the navbars in fireworks and putting them on the server
but that has done nothing. I am just assuming that the problem is with the
nav bars because the computer locks or is slow after loading everything but the
over and down characteristics of the buttons.

Try changing this:
----------------------------------------------------
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
<!--

<!--
----------------------------------------------------
To this:
----------------------------------------------------
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/JavaScript">
<!--
----------------------------------------------------
Also, you have a comment between the </head> and <body> tags. I believe
nothing is allowed between these two tags.

There is no indication of a javascript problem on that page. None.

My only comment would be that you have used the NavBar functionality to
accomplish something that a simple image swap would do. This is like
driving a hummer to the mailbox to get a postcard. The NavBar was designed
to work with framed sites (that gives you an idea of how long its teeth
are), and on a flat page like yours it therefore adds alot of unnecessary
code. Notwithstanding this, the extra weight is not prohibitive, nor does
it cause errors - it's just SOOOO RETRO.

If it were me, I'd rip that navbar out and replace it with simple image
swaps....
