Default CPU Usage 100% - 11-09-2004 , 06:54 AM

:confused;

I currently manage 2 personal educational web sites -
http://www.larryblakeley.com and http://www.royblakeley.name.

- larryblakeley.com currently has 1521 files; 317 folders; and is 21 MB;

- royblakeley.name currently has 1,257 files; 69 folders; and is 369 MB (lots
of images - but are in the smaller footprint of DjVu).

And, the Macromedia application has just recently started bogging down when
working with royblakeley.name

Have I maxed out; or is there a preference option that will reduce what is
loaded into memory while working on a large web site?

Thanks.

I moved Dreamweaver from a 933 MHz; 768 RAM machine (Windows XP- Pro; SP #2)
because of the problem, to a 1.4 GHz; 348 RAM (Windows XP-Pro; SP#2) - and
started having the same problem when working with the larger MB web site.

Thanks for the reply.
Larry

You may have a virus. I had a similar problem before and the repairers told me that I had a major virus and my whole computer was damaged.

Do have the Site Cache enabled?

I did - but, deactivated both the "site cache" and "refresh local list
automatically" - and still loading up the CPU memory.

The 100% memory usage goes off and on - but, mostly "on" to full throttle.

Something in the background is loaded into memory when working with the larger
web site - I believe.

I stripped the text from an "htm" file that I was trying to work on, copied it
into a text editor, then copied it back into a new "htm" file for replacing the
previous file. It seems that this resolved the problem. - Larry Blakeley
