copying text across layers

Heya,

I am using layers in a page lined with the same coordinates. They are hidden by default and become active via links.

If I go to copy text from the an active layer, it doesn't highlight very consistently, and when I do manage to highlight some text, it copies the text spanning ALL the layers and not just the active layer. Text is being copied from hidden layers.

Any way to stop this?
