Default coloured links - 12-01-2005 , 05:34 PM

It seems like a simple task, but it is proving to be a pain.
I want my links to be the same colour, I set the colour in the
page properties, set the colour in the properties box, they seem
to test okay, but online they are different colours than what I want.
Any ideas as to what I'm missing here?

iknowthisiseasy, Ian

Yeah, a URL or your code.

Pseudo-classes and container styles are what you need - here are some
tutorials.

Okay, for the sake of shane let me try again.
I set my page properties for a certain colour
for my links.
I then go to my working page and highlight a word,
go to the properties box and insert a link for that highlighted word
and also set the link colour as the same as I've set in the page properties.
the link test (F12) fine, but posts a different colour.
What am I missing here?

Shane, what do you mean by "code"?

Wait, wait, wait. You're creating webpages and don't know what code is...Why
do I feel something isn't right, there?

You know HTML. It's a language. You write it in code.

Could you please post a URL to your webpage or *paste* (not attach) your code
in a reply.....(to do this, View > Code > Ctrl+A, Ctrl+C.......then, in a
response Ctrl+V). Well. that is, if you're running Windows. This way, we can
better assist you, for we can see exactly what the problem is.

Until then, Murray listed some excellent resources to pour over.

Thank you Murray for your links
and also for understanding that not Everyone
on this site is a code writer.
I am a designer and artist more than a script writer,
that's Exactly why I use MX.
I appreciate all the kind people who are willing
to help out a non data head every once and a while.

thanksagain, Ian

Ian:

Good luck. The real truth of the matter is that if you want to use
Dreamweaver efficiently and effectively, you will have to learn HTML and
CSS. Otherwise, you will continually find yourself in dark crannies where
Design view is not able to help you.

Woah, woah. Please don't misinterpret what I said. I never said I was
unwilling to help because you didn't know how to write HTML code. It just
shocked me you didn't know the terminology of "code" seeing how you want to
achieve an effect that will require some. Essentially, you'll want to learn
HTML code cold.

Take care Ian.
