Default ColdFusion 6.1 upgrade - 08-05-2003 , 10:04 AM

The Red Sky upgrade is finally here. This is the one we've been waiting for.
I did an article on some of the new features here:

Find out more details about the upgrade at Macromedia:

Wow,

That's one large download for those of us on dial-up - do you think
Macromedia would make available a disk for us poor sods

Cheers

Very good article Tom. Yes ColdFusion 6.1 (formerly known as Red Sky) is a
HUGE improvement. It's ability to run concurrent sessions of CF on a singe
J2EE server and other security and stability enhancements should really ease
the woes CFMX had in a shared host environment. Add the that the Speed
increase ( 2 to 25 times faster than previous versions) and all the new or
extremely enhanced features, this upgrade has more than enough improvements
to have been considered a full dot release... But it a free upgrade! How
cool is that!

One more big reason for CF domination.. "resistance is futile" :-)
