Default col span and row span - 10-01-2003 , 05:09 AM

I was using Dream mx and it was fine, only yesterday I upgraded to Dream mx
2004, when I tried to open my page I saw that it is messed up with a lot of
spaces, means that every graphic is placed in a bigger cell than what i have
designed, I saw in the code view that every layout cell is having what is
called rowspan and col span which are given values, when I tried to change
the values to 0 It worked fine with me, so any one have an idea why dream mx
2004 put these rowspan and col span values to every cell and how can I turn
these values off???

Fady:

Show me the code before and after. DMX2004 does not put these things into
your code.

Rowspan and Colspan attributes are so the total number of cells in a column
and row will add up to the proper value- Strongly suggest NOT altering them
by hand- especially Not to an arbitrary number...

Dreamweaver has always used colspan and rowspan attributes when needed- it's
not something new with 2004. If you are in Layout mode- there's not much
that changed in 2004. If the extra space is Only there when looking at it in
design view in dreamweaver, and not in the browser, it may be a small
rendering problem.

The colspan and rowspan would most likely not be responsible for extra space
inside of the cells.

Url to the page?
Do you have a backup copy of the page- from before you changed
rowspan/colspan to 0; that you could upload also?

ok here is what I have noticed at last, I have seen that all this mess is
because the main table width is set to 820 pixels while actually I designed
it to be 780, so when I tried to resize the main table DWMX refused and said
that it will be less than the minimum width
