Default classes / tutorials - 11-14-2005 , 04:56 PM

Good afternoon,

This forum has been a great help to me. So I thought I'd start here.

I've learned a great deal through trial and error, a couple of tutorial web
sites, and helpful forums - (mostly this one). After 3 years of self-teaching,
I finally felt like I knew what I was doing. That's when I discovered I had
only scratched the surface. I've been looking for on-line help ever since.

I know there's a more efficient way to learn Web design. I'm familiar with
design concepts, color management, HTML, CSS, and programs like DW, FW, PS,
FrontPage, SoundForge, and Flash(but could certainly get better aquainted ) .
It's time I learned more about CSS, servers and hosting, cPanel, shopping
carts, etc. It would also be nice to find a reliable program that would allow
my clients to make minor changes on their own without needing the design
software.

To complicate things, I have a disability that prevents me from driving, so a
physical classroom is not practical.

I know this is a tall order, but if there's anyone out there who has learned
Web deign outside of a traditional classroom, I can sure use your input.

TIA,

- Sophia

Pay a visit to www.vtc.com I have learned so much from here that it far
outweighs the cost of $30 a month. Even the ironing gets done to the
tutorials!

Hi Judy,

I'm checking out VTC right now. It seems very similar to Lynda.com's movie
tutorials. But I've already found a couple of titles at VTC that aren't offered
at Lynds.com.

Thanks for your help.
