Changing page title on a template page

Can anyone help me? I created a site in DW8 using a template. According to the
book you should be able to change the page titles on pages created from
templates. When I try to change the title in the title box it lets me type in
the box but as soon as I click away it goes back to whatever the original
template page says. It won't even let me in to the page properies menu. Any
suggestions?

Tell me the exact steps you used to create the template, because they are
incorrect.

Try this. Create a new page, and immediately save it as a template, using
FILE | Save As Template....

Now look at the code. There should be two editable regions in the head of
the page's code - one around the <title> tag, and another above </head>.
Make your template look like that, and you'll be fine.
