Default Changes not taking - 11-16-2004 , 09:29 AM

I am getting a little fristrated. What is happening is that after I work on a
page for my site, I save it and put it to the remote server. When I go to look
at it, the changes don't take. What am I doing wrong?

Getting fristrated? Have you seen a dermatologist?

Most likely you are seeing a page cache retaining your old pages. Try
this - rename the page and upload it. Browse to the renamed page. Do you
see your changes? If so, then you definitely have to refresh a cache
somewhere.

Murray - I just tried doing that with my page. I renamed it indexnew.htm and when I tried browising to the new page , it couldn't be found.

Are you sure you are uploading to the correct location?

Heather,

This is similar to the problem I posted this morning. I'm still hoping to get
an answer.

For some reason, DW is not uploading files and you get the "Dreamweaver cannot
determine the remote server time" message.

Try to upload your files from the server site. One of the main advantages of
using DW to upload files is that you can upload all depenent files, but doing
it manually will at least allow you to get what you want onto your site until
you (we!) find out what is happening with DW.

I hope this helped.

Mark

No, your problem is different than Heathers. Don't mix them up.

Yeah - if you cannot see the file you just uploaded, then you have not a)
uploaded to the correct directory, or b) browsed to the correct directory.
There's no other explanation.
