Default layout problem in IE6 - any advice? - 01-03-2008 , 09:53 AM

Hi.

I have just updated my blog with a new wordpress theme and have noticed an
issue when a single post is viewed in IE6

If you take a look at the page below (in IE6) you will see that the heading
'Comments' is pushed slightly left (part of the C is missing), also the
heading 'Leave a comment' and also the text under this heading - all pushed
slightly to the left. The input boxes are also pushed left (left borders
missing)

CSS is
http://www.visit-the-coqui.com/wp-co...Blue/style.css

The page is fine in FF and if there is just 1 comment the page appears OK in
IE6 see here

any thoughts?

cheers and a Happy New Year to everyone

Hi B,

This was a tough one
But i like a challenge
After some local testing i found out that is has to do with the Classnames
having "-" in them and thats an illegal character for classnames.
IE 7 deals with it i reccon but IE 6 doesn't.

so replace the "-"'s in the classnames with "_" and it will work like u want
it to.

and btw your website makes my FF hang even locally :S

I will take a look at the classnames.

any ideas why it is making your FF (local) hang? I have not had any issues
with this on my IE6 or FF (local and non local)?

thanks

OK

I did a quick check working on an offline copy and cganged the classes, but
that did not seem to fix the 'shift left' issue - I will take another look
today.

As this is not my template - I will just have to slowly work my way through.
