Change Dropdown List selection from code

I am working with a form where there are multiple drop down lists. When I
change one of the drop down lists to indicate the employee is no longer active,
I want to change the selected item for six other drop down boxes from the code.
Can anyone share how they have accomplished this? Thanks, Lee
