Default Can't see entire Page at once! - 05-26-2004 , 09:32 AM

Hey all!!

I'm having a problem with my companies website. When you open the site and go
to any page you have to side scroll(using the bottom scroll bar) to look at the
rest of the page. It gets worse when you open a favorites tab on the side. You
can only see half the page when you do that. Is there any code that I could
drop into the html to make it work. Also when someone wants to print out a page
from the browser window it cuts off the side of the page. If someone could give
me a hand(not an applause) with this that would be great! Thanks! Jerred

The only way to manage either of these problems is to manage the width of
the page.

This is best done when the page is designed. At this point it may be too
tedious to rebuild the site.

For reliable printing, you should ensure that no page element is wider than
about 620 pixels (for 8.5 inch wide paper).

For browser scrolling, you should ensure that your page elements are no
wider than the SMALLEST browser viewport you expect to view the site.

You just designed the page too wide from the start.

The desired width of a page should be in the region of 720px - 750px
wide, less for a prinatble page I believe.

So unfortunately there is no quick fix. You have to take all the
senarios into account at the planning stage.

Also I noticed this in your code, well several links like them?

Firstly they are pointing at your local c drive so they wont work and
secondly you shouldnt have anything in the templates folder apart from
the .dwt files.
