Default Can't run Dreamweaver 2004 - 11-29-2004 , 11:03 AM

I tried to save an image in Fireworks and when i did, it must have corrupted
the file. Now, I can't open either Fireworks or Dreamweaver w/o crashing. I
have since removed and reinstalled both products.

That's not enough info, and it's unclear if the reinstallation solved
the problem.
Which OS?

Then go back to Macromedia and continue with the trouble ticket.

Here is what finaly fixed it.

The support folks were not helpful, their response was to set up a new user
account in Windows.

When I tried to save the files I was working on when the system crashed it
corrupted the files. When Dreamweaver starts it "initializes files" and evry
time it woud hit that directory it would crash. So, I renamed the directory in
Explorer, (needed to check the list files not the thumb nails view or it too
crashes) and then opened Dreamweaver. It opened and then said I needed to tell
it where the files were, no big deal.

Now my question is, why didn't the Dreamweaver folks know this very simple fix
BEFORE they had me reinstall and install the program half adozen times!

Did you follow up with the Tech Support people that you were working with
that you found that as a possible solution? If you don't tell them, how do
you expect them to know?
