Default Can't preview .jpeg or.png any more... - 11-25-2004 , 12:58 PM

Hi,
I duplicated some htm pages/ files by
apple + D as I have been doing for a while. Now when I use a dupe page for
making changes with pics and fonts... the .jpeg and .png files won't preview.
Everything else does including tables ,etc.Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks,
Al

Have you saved the duped pages? If not, the path to the pic is invalid.
Are you previewing pages on the server? If so, are the changed pics there
too?
These are two things I can think of that may be common to Mac and PC.

Hi Marianne,
Yes I save the duplicated htm pages as always.
No I'm not previewing pages on a server, just my machine using F12 as usual.
Just to test something that might give a clue: I went to a practice page that
contains a .gif that previews ok and replaced it with a table and a different
..gif , it showed the new table but X for the where the new .gif should be.

I'm using The Logo Creater to make quickie pics to check for the general look
of things as usual. I also tried jpegs, same thing. That the thing, I'm doing
the same thing over and over again and now this. Maybe I hit a button somewhere?
I hope the above might tip us off...
Thanks,
Alex

Good job it wasn't the "NUKE EM" button

The best bet is to send some code.

Hi,
I made a new page and a one liner text plus a jpeg, same thing.I am using the
same root folder as the original.

I think I may have a lead.
I was using DMX04 as usual and all was ok. I just upgraded to Studio MX04. The
box contained only 1 disc for everything and I installed it.
I'm thinking maybe that has something to do with this snag.
I have been using duped htm pages from the original DW files and since I
didn't use CSS... Do you think there is a connection?

Thanks Marianne,
Problem figured out.
After defining a new site, and still no pics.
I started looking at buttons.

Preferences>preview in browser> preview using temp files box was not checked.
I don't recall changing any settings anywhere but... I must have some how.
Thank you for helping,
Alex
