I've got a site that was made years ago (I inherited it). I'm converting it to CSS. I made a template, but when I try to copy and paste from the old web pages into an editable region I get an error message: "Making this change would require changing code that is locked by a template or a translator. The change will be discarded." If I copy one paragraph at a time, it will work. Below is an example. If I copy just the Viewing Distance..., it's ok. Likewise with Reprinted from... Both of them at a time won't work. Viewing Distance at Computer Workstations<br></font font color="#000080" face="Arial" size="4">(Guidelines for monitor placement)<br /font></big>[/b]</p p>[i]<font face="Arial">Reprinted from WorkPlace Ergonomics, Sept./Oct. 1996, p. 10-12, by permission. How can I efficiently strip out the code that is causing the problem? I've tried a few things that have not worked. Thanks. |

I defined a separate local site to play with the template problem. That's why the links are broken. I just copied all of the files from the original site into the new site folder and still have the same problem. The oodles of template parameters are because I was following the lynda.com tutorials as I'd never made a successful template before. I'm going to go back and start over. Thanks |
