Default Cannot save a file - 11-13-2004 , 08:19 PM

I was working in Dreamweaver all day. Suddenly, when I was trying to save a
file, I got the following message: While executing receiveArguments in
File_Save.htm, the following JavaScript error(s) occurred: At line 75 of file
?C:\Program Files\Marcomedia\Dreamweaver MX
2004\Configuration\Menus\MM\File_Save.js?: Exception thrown in native function.
And now I cannot save any files. This is a disaster for me. What is wrong and
how can I fix it? Your help will be greatly appreciated, Thanks

The most common cause of such errors is installation of a non-compatible
extension. Have you installed any lately?

Hi Gary, The last extension that I installed was NexTensio but that was
several days ago and everything has been working fine up to this point. I
searched through the forum and saw a similar problem and they said they made
renamed their site directory, then made a new name directory with the site name
and transferred all the files there. But I can't rename my site directory. It's
very strange. Also, I have been working in DW all day and having no problems.
Of course, I'm right in the middle of something with part of it posted, so it's
driving me crazy. Thanks for any help.

This isn't a great help, but a practical suggestion. Since at some point
you're going to have to shut DW down (which could cure it for all I know),
I'd suggest going into Code View, copy it all, then paste it into a text
file. That way you'll have a copy of the code so if worse comes to worse and
you have to shut down DW and lose those pages, you'll still have the copy.

Hi, I did shut down Dreamweaver but when I opened it again - same problem. I
then un-installed some extensions. Same problem with saving my file. I even
reinstalled DW - same problem. Then I noticed that I COULD save other files. So
I cut the code of the file (naturally it was my index file!) and pasted it to a
new file. Deleted the old file and renamed the new and it seems to be working.
Thank heavens....it was a rough night last night when I couldn't figure out how
I could complete the page!

Glad you got it fixed. Are you sure it wasn't a full moon?
