Cannot connect to Data Sources

I have loaded CFMx & DreamweaverMx on a newly formatted laptop. CF
Administrator sees the datasource, but Dreamweaver does not...any thoughts on
how to proceed or where to look for the problem?

I cannot see any of the data sources (snippets, etc.)

I have specified a site and a testing server, but the application panels are
greyed out. As a result, I cannot get to the data nor can I use my browser to
look at it. The strange thing is the Testing URL button.

My path is: d:\inetpub\wwwroot\writingcd\dev\webroot\

The localhost is d:\inetpub\wwwroot

When I test for the testing server, the URL test will test ok if I give the
path "Localhost", but not if I give the path
"localhost\writingcd\dev\webroot\"; however, if I use "localhost" and then try
to view through a browser I cannot
do so.

Now, all the application panels are greyed out.

I have removed and reentered the site, but to no avail.

Any suggestions on how to proceed?
