Default Calendar - 11-29-2004 , 04:06 AM

:confused;
I am a beginner with Dreamweaver. I am trying to design a calendar to show
availability and bookings for holiday accommodation. I have each day of the
month as cell squares contained in a larger box denoting the month. Because
holiday clients move in around 4pm and vacate at 10am on a subsequent day I
would like to show this by splitting the day into two and coloured differently.
I would like a diagonal division line from lower left corner to upper right but
also display the day numeral spanning both sections to be large enough to see.

I have been able to produce this arrangement in Excel by inserting
AutoShapes-BasicShapes-Triangle into a cell and by copying, rotating and
resizing produce the split cell arrangement. I then place a transparent text
box over to complete the calendar cell. The rest of the calendar is made up
from copying and pasting the unit many times.
You can see this is cumbersome but achievable, but can it be done in
Dreamweaver.

I have tried to paste the Excel cells to Dreamweaver but cannot get the sizing
right, if I have to do it this way how is it best done and what size rows and
columns should I produce the Excel cells so as to be easily placed. At the
moment I have a calendar three months wide which is suitable for the page size.

I have tried to convert the completed Excel calendar to PDF and then to JPEG
and insert the whole image but this is blurred.

As the calendar needs to be continually updated I need to do it in the minimum
time.

Or; Does anyone have a similar working calendar.

Alan.

this is quite a tricky one actually. Best suggestion i can think of is that you
create an image called cellBackground which is a diagonal line one an empty
background. So iff your table cell is 30px x 30px, make an image that size and
have a diagonal line across the image. When you've done this, set the
background of each cell to this background image. Then you can put your text
over this image. Hope this points you in the right direction. Ross
