A Beginners Question

I'm trying to learn macromedia dreamweaver.But there is a problem that I
couldn't solve yet.
I'm putting a table to the very left of the page for a menu,and hyperlinks in
the menu.(this not the problem)
But when I try to add text or sth. else to the right of the table I
couldn't.It just start from the bottom of the table.
My question is how to create diffrent text,image areas with different
backgrounds in anywhere in my page.

In your case:

Create a new table with two columns. Put your already made table (with
the menu, etc) in the left column, and the text, images, etc in the
right. You might want to select the cells (columns) and select "vertical
align top".

If you do that, you have created your first "nested table", and that's
how tablles structures should be built. Don't split tables into uneven
rows/columns containing different number of cells. Insert new tables
inside cells instead.
