background activity anything but background

murray - is there someway I can stop it checking, or doing any sort of
background work? I just want to be able to work on the file like I wuold in
TEXTPAD or any other app where you can just atl-tab between various apps
without any delay

its a case of Deslecting the checkbox for "refresh local file list automatically'

Hmmm....

Can you try enabling that and checking with VSS disabled?
