Don you feel it's got a negligible user base? |

It's one of the most poular browsers - people in my office use it. Especially with the recent news that IE is risky to use. Don you feel it's got a negligible user base? Osgood, I'll try to figure out your tips! Yes, it needs to work in Opera too. Safari is also getting a foothold isn't it? John Yes that is ok and a method which I have tried and works quite well. You need firstly of course to insert a relatively positioned <div> in the trigger cell, then inside the relatively positioned <div> you need to insert the absolutely positioned <div> for the submenu. A submenu <div> has to be absolutely positioned otherwsie you cant show or hide it. Oh by the way Opera of course doesnt not work well with the snap layers script if that a concern for you. |

Don you feel it's got a negligible user base? Yes. But that's me. Personally, I don't know a single "normal" surfer who is even aware that you can download and install a browser. I never consider Opera in the sites that I build. -- Murray --- ICQ 71997575 Team Macromedia Volunteer for Dreamweaver MX (If you *MUST* email me, don't LAUGH when you do so!) ================== news://forums.macromedia.com/macromedia.dreamweaver - THE BEST WAY TO GET ANSWERS ================== http://www.dreamweavermx-templates.com - Template Triage! http://www.projectseven.com/go - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.dwfaq.com - DW FAQs, Tutorials & Resources http://www.macromedia.com/support/search/ - Macromedia (MM) Technotes ================== "johnnyivan" <john (AT) fluid-rock (DOT) com> wrote in message news:ccblb8$1ce$1 (AT) forums (DOT) macromedia.com... Hi Osgood, This works in IE 6 and NS 7, not NS 4.08 though. |
|
against the left side of the browser onMouseover. If I make the outer DIV 'relative' [How do I do that?] will it align in NS 4.08? Also why is it necessary to make it relative? |
|
Doing it without the outer DIV works in IE 6 and NS 7 by the way. |

The menu layer appears against the left side of the browser onMouseover. If I make the outer DIV 'relative' [How do I do that?] will it align in NS 4.08? Also why is it necessary to make it relative? I dont know if it will work in NN4x but i'll test it out. I dont hold out much hope though. Doing it without the outer DIV works in IE 6 and NS 7 by the way. If you just insert an absolutely positioned layer <div> in a table cell without it being wrapped in a relatively positioned one, the chances are it wont work in Mac IE5x. That browser gets layers placed in a table cell terribly wrong. |
