Default DreamWeaver Help - 06-11-2008 , 10:00 PM

I am very new to web site development and just need a small site for my
software business. I know there are hundreds of site builders out there and I
purchased on for about $50.00 that used to fit my needs until I decided that I
wanted a "Forum" page and some sort of "Purchase" or "Check Out" page. Can
anyone that is experienced with Dreamweaver tell me if it can create such pages
as a Form or Check Out? I have been told that Dreamweaver is the best site
builder and that is what I want if it will do what I need. Thank you to anyone
that can advise.

It can, but both of those items are pretty advanced to build from scratch.
You can get free forum sofware (Google it) and PayPal buttons from PayPal,
neither of which require DW to implement.

Aloha.,

Jerry

If you want suggestions on forum software just post what web server technology
you plan to use (ie: PHP, ASP, CF, etc). In regards to Paypal, there are
extensions that you can get for Dreamweaver which can make the process of
setting up a store very easy. So again, post if you are planning to use Paypal
or another payment processor.

Thank you very much. As I said I am very new to web site building but dont mind
spending the money for the best. If Dreamweaver will make forum type pages then
it sounds like what I need. All the other programs I have seen that will make a
forum page are part of a program, in other words you have to this program and
that program and their program and a web site hoster that will allow certain
things to occur. I currently use GoDaddy as a hosting account but I can change
that and I have also seen the tools available to make it to where you can
download programs and host your own website. But I wish to take the easy way
out and hopefully purchase just one program that will do what I want.According
to your comments it sounds to me that Dreamweaver will do what I want. Thank
you and any additional comments are very much welcomed and appreciated. Thank
you again

Maybe I didn't make myself clear - you'd face a long, steep learning curve
to build a forum from scratch - nobody does that, we just adapt existing,
often free, forum software. If you want the easy way out that is certainly
not it!

Aloha,

Jerry

Dear SnakeEyes I forgot to mention as you requested that I plan on using PayPal
for purchases as I have an existing Business Account with them. Can you adise
just if Dreamweaver is the right product to use for just about all web site
needs like making a forum page?? thanks again and forgive my stupidity but I
dont mind spending money as long as I get what I need so your comments are
extremely important to me. Thank you again
