Default Address Bar Logos - 07-13-2004 , 12:31 AM

I've noticed on a few sites that the address bar shows a company logo to the
left of the address. It also carries over in the bookmarks. What and where
in my code can I add this? What size image should it be?

This is a favicon.
Have a look at http://www.favicon.com/

It seems that it's so simple to do this...not for me. I added the correct
code within the head and put the .ico image in the my assets folder. All my
pages updated and the I put them all on the server. I viewed the site and no
image in the addy bar. Any clue why? http://www.lbpstudios.com/Hayden/
You'll see the code immediately under the meta. I also tried it under the
title.

Here's the code in my template:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="../assets/favicon.ico">

And here's the code on a child page:
<link rel="shortcut icon" href="assets/favicon.ico">

Notice the ../ missing?

Could that be the culprit and if so how do I make it carry over when I do an
update?

Clear cache. That works on some browsers - not all.

If you are using Safari, get "Safari Icon Manager". I can't tell you what to
do with any other browsers.

BTW, the favicon appears for me, on the referenced page, though I can't tell
what it is.

Good luck.

Thanks John,
As long as I know that someone sees it. Now I'll just work on a better
image.
