Default Adding a caption to a photo? - 08-31-2004 , 07:27 PM

Anyone know how to add a caption to a photo in Dreamweaver? I'm laying out a
news article, and I find it's easy to add the image and the text automatically
wraps around it. But what about adding a caption to the photo, so the text
wraps around that also?

Where I don't see a single image with a text caption.

below it that says something to the effect of click to enlarge.
Oh...yeah. That. I was focusing on all the gallery thumbs, I guess.

In the past I have created a table with two rows and centered the caption
in the cell below it.

Hmmm....is the caption centered? Looks left justified.

Wrap the image in a div container:

<div class="imageCaption">
<img .... />
<p>some caption stuff</p>
</div>

Then give the css some styling:

<style>
/* style the div */
..imageCaption {
float: right; /* or left */
width: 200px; /* the width of your image */
/*add some borders if you want */
border: 1px solid black;
/*add some padding if you want */
padding: 10px;
}

/* style the caption */
..imageCaption p {
text-align: center;
/* add some font size/family if you want */
}

The above is the basic idea. Play around with the CSS until you come up with
what you need.

take a look at the image on the left side of the page. there is a "caption"
below it that says something to the effect of click to enlarge.

you are correct...much to my chagrin. I pushed for the center but my
friend's wife liked it left.

Hope it works out for you.
