Default absolute paths in remote non-root folder - 07-30-2004 , 11:25 AM

Hello!

Plz help me to solve such a problem:

I connect to a remote folder using dreamweaver.
My login and password allow me to connect only to this particular root.

BUT!: for some reasons, i cannot put my site there [to this root] , so i put
it to the folder i.e. /www/mysite/

The problem is: i have to use absolute paths in my site's links, so it can
be programmed later by a programmist, and these absolute paths doesn't work
in remote site, because in local site it is i.e. /images/eye1.jpg and
browser look for it in /images/eye1.jpg in remote, and not in
/www/mysite/images/eye1.jpg [i set up host directory to "/www/mysite/" in
dreamweaver].

:|
Plz help.

Greetings,
Thiefunny

could you clarify if i'm guessing correctly?

When you connect with ftp, what do you see listed in the Remote side of the
F8 site manager?

Is there a folder named "www" or similar, and you have to put your site
files inside of that folder?

do you have anything entered in the "host directory" line, in this Site
Definition, remote ftp info?

could you detail the folder structure of your Local site for me?
Tell me what folder you have defined as the Local site Folder, and what
folder contains the site's "homepage" ??

something like this please:
localsitefolder <--site defined here
www
index.html <--homepage
