Google Gears, development/test environment and synchronization

Hello list,

I'm starting a project which will use Google Gears. On the net I found
PubTools (http://code.google.com/p/gears-pubtools/) and Dojo Offline
(http://dojotoolkit.org/offline).

As far as an IDE/development system goes, I gound thses:
Aptana (forse? http://almaer.com/blog/google-gears-...-aptana-jaxer),
and Eclipse (forse? http://www.langtags.com/gearswtp/index.html)

But most importantly for me is a test harness, book, or more serious
tutorial that isn't a rewrite of the Gears "getting started" tutorial.
Unfortunately I haven't found anything worth mentioning.

Anyone have GG experience or suggestions? Since I'm still on the
starting blocks I'm open to any ideas...

I'll also have to deal with synchronization (probably in a
'classic' (one internet based) publisher / (many GG based) subscribers
architecture). Anyone with experience, suggestions, tutorials,
articles, uhm?
