Default Mailto subject with spaces? - 05-26-2004 , 03:46 AM

I'm using email links like this in my blog (they are automatically
generated):
<a
href="mailto:blog (AT) outer-court (DOT) com?subject=Google-Blogoscoped-Context,
Not Navigation">

Is it legal?

No, you'll go straight to jail! <g>

Actually, according to the FAQ

6.10. How do I specify a subject for a mailto link?)

the spaces should at least be encoded as "%20".

Nope. Encode spaces as %20. Note that specifying a subject may
result in lost mail.

This is bad
I'm exporting my blog-posts from Blogger.com. There is no direct way I
could change " " to "%20"...
I already got feedback Firebird breaks.

Thanks for the feedback to you two. I guess I'll have to use some ID in
the subject or leave it blank... this will be a pain for sorting my
mails.

I have occasionally used a subject in my email links, and have used an
underscore "_" where spaces would be. Seems to work fine for me.
