Maybe you could post the URL when the server comes back. I would be
interested in seeing it.

I'll do that.
Finally. After 48 hours of "moving to new server" they managed to fix
the PHP and MySQL installation. <grrr - going to move>

Look for the block between:
/* Menu styling */ and /* End menu styling */
at http://countryrode.com/style/rode4.css

The HTML for the menu is PHP-generated and uses an internal page integer
to not render a link for the current page's button, but that is beyond
the subject at hand. <g>

That only affects how much space is left inside the element for the
content, no?

No. The width and height properties specify the region available for
content. The padding, borders, and margins for an element are then
/added/ to that.
Thanks for replying. Later that evening (Thurs), I was reading an MSDN
article about what changed in IE6, and it explained the box model. I
realised that I was thinking of IE's box model, not the W3C one. Once I
realised my mistake, everything became clear.

Actually, that's not strictly true. Not *everything* became clear. I
still can't work out why anyone would listen to Bartok, but I guess that
will remain one of life's mysteries!!

Thanks for that, very informative.

That's OK. I do that sort of stuff myself. I mainly do the back-end
coding. I'm just trying to learn the front-end stuff as well.
