Gerhard Fiedler wrote: has anybody a pointer to a good tutorial about borders in tables? I'm especially interested in the relationship between the border attribute and the border style in the various table elements, how they interact, how they are similar or different, what's weird, what's normal... you get the idea. Have you RTFM? http://www.w3.org/Style/CSS/ I'd start there. |

Gerhard Fiedler <nospam (AT) globo (DOT) com.REMOVE>: actually, the place that talks about tables is http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS2/tables.html that's the stardard. it seems to me, however, that most of the knowledge necessary to write useful styles has to do with knowing what works well over a more or less broad range of browsers. rather than finding it all out by myself -- which has probably been done a gazillion times by now --, I thought someone might know some good places that have some collected experiences published. Try http://www.blooberry.com/indexdot/html/supportkey/a.htm If you read German http://selfhtml.teamone.de/ |

I thought someone might know some good places that have some collected experiences published. It sounds like what you want is a compatibility chart more than a tutorial: |
