BTW, if I set the margins to 0 in Page Setup, close and reopen Page Setup,
they are set to 0.83, 0.96, 1.1, 0.7, which is kind of reasonable for the
printable area of my printer.
Hasn't it occurred to you that when you have set the margins via Page Setup
they are displaying margins in cm.

Therefore 8.33mm, 9.66mm, 1.1mm,7mm is exactly the same as 0.83, 0.96, 1.1,
0.7

Why not just define the body width in the css print style sheet and set the
margins up there.
Mind you, remember the users can over-ride this if they have set different
margins on their computer.
