Opera and background-image

I've been experimenting with a background image, and my copy of Opera
(7.1, on Win98) doesn't seem to want to display it. It works fine with
Mozilla, IE5, and even Opera 6.01 (heck, even lowly Netscape 4 can
display it!). An example is here:

(I moved the relevant declaration to a <style> element in the head for
easy reference)

Is this a known problem, or am I missing something obvious?
