IE6 CSS Menu Problem -

I have a test page at <http://web0.greatbasin.net/~leo/test/>. The only
link that works is "New Products". I did this on a Mac and do not have
access to it with WinIE6. My customer states that if he accesses the site,
everything appears fine. If he activates "New Products", everything works
fine and if he uses the menu link to go "Home", everything works fine.
But, if he goes from "New Products" to "Home" using the Back button on the
IE6 browser, the menu breaks. The highlight doesn't work and there are
other problems regarding whether the link is visited or not. I Googled for
the problem and found that IE6 is shaky with the A:hover pseudoclass
according to what I could find. I found nothing specific to my problem.
The css file is at
<http://web0.greatbasin.net/~leo/test/cssfiles/common.css>. The markup has
other problems too. IE5 Mac doesn't reflow the menu properly when the text
has been resized. Opera 5/Mac highlights only the text instead of the full
link. I can live with those. So can the customer, but I really want
Win/IE6 to work properly. Both the HTML and CSS are copasetic according to
w3c, but you can check it if you want. Is this simple non-javascript, css
solution too much for the current scene or have I made a bad. Any help
appreciated.
The menu is fixed. I really would have liked to have made it flow, but I
couldn't figure out how to keep the yellow hover within the border at all
resolutions. Probably the wrong approach.
