I think you misunderstand, the document that is to be validated does not need to be "online", but *you do* in order to use Web Developer's "Validate Local ..." to validate local files. |

Does anyone besides me use Liam Quinn's 'A Real Validator' from http://arealvalidator.com/ ? It isn't free, but it isn't expensive either. It does HTML but not CSS. |

There's always HTML-Tidy, not a validator, a linter, but it will show things that are off. Top-Style will throw CSS errors at you. Neither program has to be on-line to work. Thanks, Adrienne.
