Both the .css file and the html file reside on my local PC. When I open the html file with IE6 the styles are not seen in the webpage. Everything looks fine if I upload the .css and html files to my web server. Any ideas on why the styles don't appear on my local PC? This is normal. You asked IE to open a file; you did not ask a web |

This is normal. You asked IE to open a file; you did not ask a web server to deliver a page. That's got nothing to do with it. It has everything to do with it. The browser cannot ask for the CSS |

"HarryO" <chapinfan (AT) comcast (DOT) net> wrote in message news:qKwHc.47400$a24.7881 (AT) attbi_s03 (DOT) .. I created an external stylesheet file 'styles.css' and an html file that includes the line: LINK REL="stylesheet" TYPE="text/css" HREF="styles.css" Both the .css file and the html file reside on my local PC. When I open the html file with IE6 the styles are not seen in the webpage. Everything looks fine if I upload the .css and html files to my web server. Any ideas on why the styles don't appear on my local PC? Have you got a BASE tag in your page? |
