Default Functional difference between margin and position? - 09-03-2003 , 11:18 PM

What is the purpose of having margins? When positioning an element,
should is use top, left, bottom, right, or top-margin, left-margin,
bottom-margin, right-margin? It seems like there is no functional
difference to me.

Margins influence the position of things around the element as well as the
element itself.
