something like the ones airplanes occasionally hit. However, this marine
air-pocket stunk to high heaven. Undoubtedly a shark bubble...

Well, you may be more-or-less right in a general sense, but I've noticed
the tantrums to be spontaneous and very much at random. Perhaps it's
constipation or something equally as shitty.
