Default free WYSIWYG editor? - 04-20-2008 , 01:13 PM

Hi all

Can people please recommend free(gratuit) WYSIWYG html editors for
Windows?

I need something suitable for a computer literate beginner that
preferably gives half decent html/css output.

Thanks in advance,

viza

For a beginner, seamonkey ain't bad. It's based on the old netscape
editor. A few minor flaws but decent and free.

Use the fork of Composer/NVu called KompoZer instead. It's a lot better.

don't ya just love winduhs?

Less than a minute to download and 15 minutes just to unzip half the
stuff.

Good for beginners. But it screws up to much. It fails to understand
what a pixel is. I tell it to make a table a certain width and it's
like it doesn't care. Then in coding, every blasted tag has to go on a
seperate line. If I want to change tab spacing, can't do it. If I
change the text formatting in "source", everytime I check it, the
format reverts back to the original.

That sounds like a very good approximation of half decent html+css.

Thanks all, more suggestions still welcome...
