Default Why doesn't this page print properly? - 06-27-2003 , 11:41 AM

Hi.

My friend used frames and layers to create:
http://www.cooleycom.com/ccbeta/index.html

He noticed that the page doesn't lay out properly for print. Can you give
any advice as to how to fix it so the print layout matches the screen
layout?

I'm going to suggest he do everything in tables on one layer unless
there's a more interesting solution.

Thanks in advance.
-Geoff

P.S. I know the graphics are heavy - he's a print designer

There seem to be quite a few gremlins in there. Try fixing those first.

<style type="text/css" media="screen">

Would you expect a printer to use a screen style sheet? Read up on CSS media
types. (and fix the 16 HTML syntax errors - better yet, move to strict and
ditch the remaining presentational markup)

Well, he's using Adobe GoLive which isn't really a web development tool.

How about something simple http://www.porjes.com/cl/ (I ignored the
original code & just wrote it from scratch).

The graphics are OK, it's just a bit light on text!
