Default Question about google messages - 10-21-2003 , 10:51 PM

I use Google to send messages to Usenet. When I look at the code of
the Google messages I sent it says the following:

From: <a href=/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off&q=author:easytoremember123%40email.com+
target=_top>

What does this mean? The hl, and the ie, and the safe and the q?

ok, i dont know for sure, but it seems like it explains it in the address.
hl is the language you post in
ie is the encoding (UTF-8 in this case)
safe probably refers to whether it is encrypted or not
q is the author

im not too familiar with server side scripting, but i would guess that its a
cgi script (or something like that) and that address is the address it
produces to get to the post you made.

again, this is a shot in the dark. maybe someone with more knowledge of
this sorta stuff could post a better answer. if nobody does, well, search
for it through google. kinda ironic....
