Default disable printing from toolbar - 09-29-2004 , 07:54 PM

is there is a way to disable printing from the I.E. toolbar? or is there a
manner that on the moment a page is going to be printed it will be a white
page?

I believe the IE customisation kit can allow you to create a custom install
of IE which does not include such a control. I'm not certain though, I
haven't used it since 1999.

Use separate style sheets for "screen" and "print" media.

With software like html proctector from antsoft you are able to protect
whole pages but it is not reliable with every browser.

I know you can disable I.E. options through your registry settings by hand.
In the meantime I understood from microsoft boys that there's not a tag or
metag available to disable toolbar printing. I could imagine that through
javascript or whatever you are able to set registry settings temporarely?

So the question now is; Could it be done?

That technique hides the page from search engines and is bypassable in about
5 seconds.
