Default Keywords question - 12-15-2003 , 07:01 PM

<META name = "keywords" content = "enee, menee, manee, moo">

Is my assumption correct that this line will allow people searching for
enee to make my website surface via a search engine?

Put differently my question is: if I were to type in enee at go.com
would my website come up?

I have tried this, and it isn't working. Please let me know
if my code is correct, and, if it isn't, what I should code instead.

Many thanks,
Patrick.

Then my question remains: how do you get a site to surface in a search
engine like google?
What have you got to put in the code? Or is there nothing you can do about
the readiness of
one's site being shown?

I did try putting in an nonsense word and seeing whether my site would pop
up, and it didn't
hence my original query on this matter,

Patrick.

no, support stopped for keywords in about 1997 due to abuse. i think one
search engine still supports them but doesn't weigh them very heavily, i
cant remember which one it is/was.

some search engines claim to have never supported them (such as google)
but you still see some search results that can only be explained by the
keyword meta. for example placing a nonsense word in the meta and
nowhere else and then searching for that word, your site may popup.
