Default Which pages to index in search engines. - 08-12-2004 , 07:51 AM

I am Webmaster for a Lions Club. I have put up a site with 8 pages.
Maximum exposure is not as important as with a commercial site.

(a) At the moment I have <DESCRIPTION> and <KEYWORDS> meta-tags in only 2 of
the pages, the Home Page, and a page saying what Lions Clubs are about, and
these are the only two listed by Google. I believe that the Activities
Page (what we do) should be treated similarly. The other pages are really
incidental. Are there any considerations I have missed on this issue,
before I start changing things again?

(b) Should I add a "no-indexing" tag to the other pages? What is its
present status? I would like to make the pages suitable for ALL search
engines. I haven't tried looking in other search engines yet.

Doug.

That has probably nothing to do with meta tags. Since you didn't post a
URL, this is just 99.99 certain.

Don't waste your time with those meta tags. They are mostly ignored by
indexing robots, and even if they weren't, you should simply write
document _content_ (text) properly.

Why would you do that?
