Default CSS & older browsers break? - 02-21-2006 , 05:01 PM

I heard that some older browsers break on some specifics of CSS.
Does anyone know what those specifics were?
I hope it's not using
style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;font-size:small;" on an
element.

This group is about HTML tags, not CSS.

Surely. If there's sufficient demand, someone might write a book about
them. Meanwhile, try some CSS resources, like the CSS authoring FAQ
(Google for it) or news:comp.infosystems.www.authoring.stylesheets.

Some old browsers like IE 6 get it all wrong on rainy days, or when a
wrong DOCTYPE is used.

Hello Jim,

CSS support is different for nearly every version of every older
browsers. The best thing to do is to build your site so that it is
still readable and functional without CSS altogether. Older browser
users are few and far between, and are most likely used to having
modern site designs break on them.
