Can Someone tell me why my COUNTER doesn't show up?

I designed a site for my friend and his counter is not showing up in some
browsers. Is there a way to make sure the counter shows up everytime for
absolutely shure?

Shows in NS 4.78 Win2K. Of course, I'd have to ask why? Make it
increment 1543 for each hit. Much more impressive!

Counters are basically useless.
