What is difference between html and dhtml?

I hope this is the correct place to post this:
I am developing a web site for a e-commerce business I will be
running. The site I'm setting up will be 50% store, 50% content. I'm
not sure which shopping cart I'll be using yet (am looking at
os-commerce and miva) but the other part will be content. I will be
writing reviews of products, articles on the industry, and someday may
have some blogging and forums and advertising. I have to add that I
am not much into programming and I want a good web site but most of
all what is important to me is ease of use and a easy to update web
page. I will be using Macromeda Studio 8 to develop it (dreamweaver
and flash)
Years ago when I looked into web development there was simply html but
now I read about dhtml which I believe is dynamic html. Will
dreamweaver 8 do that? What exactly is dhtml?

You seem to be posting in a lot of newsgroups trying to find out very
fundamental things about web authoring. Are you sure you are up to this
task? It sounds like you should get rather more experience first -
especially as you are likely to be dealing with other people's credit card
information.

A buzzword that was far more popular in the late 90s then it is today. It is
usually taken to mean "HTML + CSS that gets modified by JavaScript on the
fly".

Thank you for your advice. I'm just very new to this and overwhelmed
by the terms and guess I have to start somewhere. I think a the credit
card processing will be handled by someone that I outsource that to. I
will continue looking for off the shelf e-commerce solutions to limit
the amount of programming I have to do.
