If you use a better tool from the start, it hurts the learning process. |

Once the new user knows how to close his tags, create his tables, forms, and links, etc. by hand, *then* he should look into tools that automate those tasks. |

Not before. |

For someone just starting out in creating web pages, I always advise the simplest possible plain text editor. You don't learn how to design and build cas by buying and driving a Subaru or Honda. Wow, which text editor does that!?? ROFLOL. Err? I think it's called: CarEditPro4000. It has filters which trap such faux pas as: - Bumper too big!!! - No air bags!!! - Oooo! Sharp edges on your dashboard!!! On the other hand, it really needs to be improved to include traps for: - You dolt! You're still under 40 MPG!!! and - Carbon alert! Carbon alert! Uh ... I'm sorry I can't translate the current socio-political climate into anything meaningful. Oh, and it really needs to have the "slap your head" USB attachment added for: - BABY ALERT! BABY ALERT! You're an idiot!!! Your baby is not in an approved seat!!! And when this program (and/or car) comes out I am going to go buy a gun and start shooting. (geez, love the randomness of my signatures!) --UnHallmark Card: I must admit, you brought Religion into my life. I --never believed in Hell until I met you. |

I would advise a beginner to "buy and drive" a web site (that uses CSS) from Open Source Web Design <http://www.oswd.org/>. |
