I got about 11 tiny websites, and in order to link them, I cobbed-together a simple CSS-only side nav menu, with (css-only activated) "tooltips" attached (so far only the top two links have the tooltips). this is a 'single layer' 11-celled left menu; no 'nested items' or sub-folders involved.... problem IS: when I made the tooltip "spans inside the li's", I must'a did something wrong, because somewhere in the code (or in the CSS, maybe?) something is generating "extra blank table cells" in the left nav menu (and those cells *aren't* in the code). to top it off, the page validates perfectly, AND the CSS validates 100% good as well... I'd sure be grateful to anyone who can tell me which tag I misplaced (or whatever else I may've done incorrectly). pls take a look; the page is at http://machines.50webs.com/navMenuMess/badnav.html and the entire CSS is linked to the page above, on a second linked page, for your viewing pleasure :-) thanks, toolie "help me unsplatter my mind" |
