Default problem with jpg image - 11-08-2003 , 07:22 PM

Hi, I am wondering if anyone can help me as this befuddles me. I am not
an html expert FTR.

I am trying to use a clickable image, and the image does not appear (I
just get the link border and ALT)when I check it out after uploading. It
appears as intended when I view the page from my hard drive, I can view
the uploaded image from the host side so I know it uploaded OK, and
yes...I do believe I placed it in the correct directory! I experimented
with a different image and it worked fine. Is it possible an image can
be secretly write-protected...even though I can't imagine why they would
do this. Any ideas what might be wrong?

Thanks in advance
Erika

Hmm, it's a thought. I didn't think of it and will give it a go when I
get a minute. Will let you know! Thank you.

It's only a guess as you didn't give a URL, but it sounds like it
could be a case problem - for example the image was called 'map.jpg'
and in the HTML you used 'Map.JPG'. This wouldn't show up when you
view it from the hard drive (unless you're using a Unix variant) as
most OSes are case insensitive.
